And that was partly responsible for his murder: He was not a gangster, but the people around him were. They saw he was going to leave, that they were going to lose him, and so I think they decided to kill him."

That just doesn't sound plausible. I think what's much more likely is that 2Pac had BEEF with gang members, and they killed him over BEEF, not over him wanting to leave behind a thuggish lifestyle.
Pac got killed because he was Second Rate

He got killed because he was an idiot, and got caught up in the moment to try and solidify his image as a "gangster" rapper. He thought that he - with the company Death Row kept - could run up and smash a crip, who's uncle was high up and that he'd be untouchable with his company backing him, and they saw that 2Pac was easily the weakest link when it came to the gang thing, and easiest to get at without major retaliation. I know that his murder triggered a little war, and it was little but people need to let his murder go as a simple gang retaliation, and get rid of the Suge Knight conspiracy, or the government conspiracy. 2Pac wasn't the best political speaker. He let his emotion and passion get in the way and may have had a following but wouldn't be able to break down barriers in government

aight aight... interesting... but I thought they beat up Orlando Anderson because he snatched someone's death row chain? You are making it seem like they beat him up just for the sake of beating up a crip...

but also are you suggesting that Orlando Anderson just took out pac that same night? Like he got up, wiped the blood off his face, got in his car, then killed him?
it would seem more plausible that baby lane asked one of his boys to do it... and then checked himself into a hospital, haha.

and yea... i agree that it was the case that 2pac's bad side was ultimately what got him killed... he was a very intelligent man, who was intent on inspiring great ideas throughout the black community... but he had a bad side that was all about proving himself as a thug and fucking up his enemies. BTW it is my opinion that 2Pac had manic-depressive disorder... so that complicates things even more.

it's well known that 2pac was killed by the crips and Orlando may or may not have been the shooter. But it was b/c Orlando wanted retaliation that 2pac was killed

Disagree with the easiest to get at without retalitation part of your post. There was a week long war in Compton after his death. I would hardly refer to that as a "little war." Everything else you said was pretty on point though.
