The Wash

Since dre's first "single" has just "dropped" i was just listening to the first and last tracks of the wash soundtrack.
and overall im glad we atleast got 2 snoop and dre tracks out of it, but i remember that before it came out i was like 12 or 13, (yeah whatever STFU) me and my friends were all talking about how it was finally (originally) gonna be a snoop and dre album out, (first draft of the wash soundtrack was that it was going to be an all dre and snoop album)

anyway, what does everybody think of this album/soundtrack, and what it could've been, what do you think of the 2 snoop and dre songs? and what does the (pretty shitty movie imo,) do to dre and snoop legacy now days?

ironically, this album came out after dre announced his 3rd lp haha, but anyway, listening to on the blvd, those westcoast sounds in the backgroung are

The lp would have been a classic, hands down. Wish they still would do it but I will take a Dre executive produced album instead. But the other tracks that were on there were nice replacements and the soundtrack was cool.

Bad Intentions was crazy, the other two are great tracks too

Though Dre was going through a weird phase in mixing tracks... they're clear and everything, but they don't seem as hard as other tracks

Also, the track "The Wash" was meant to be a sequel to Nuthin But A G Thang, because it samples another section from the same track G Thang sampled ("I Wanna Do Something Freaky to You" by Leon Haywood)... except the way they replayed the sample for "The Wash" made it sound a bit weak, whereas G Thang had that gritty 70s sampled feel to it

Hmm, well I wouldn't agree with weak, just softer (piano)... it wasn't funky like G Thang.  The Wash is one of my favourite Dre/Snoop collabos.

On a sidenote one of my fav. never released Dre songs was Crooked Guys from the Training Day OST

Even the non Snoop/Dre songs were solid on this. Those Soopafly and Latoya Williams tracks were both fire.

Your not mistaken... interesting that Dre used that for him and Snoop.  I think it was a single right?

If anyone uses Ebay you can buy that album from a discount store in Cali for $3.99.  Yup, they shipped a new copy to Canada for $4!  I'm trying to find Bones for cheap.  That was a bad ass SDTRK!
