You'll commonly see them throwing up the Mainstream way because it's easier to do off the back (cause they won't usually practice the G-Way). If you've lived in a Town where the West is shitty you'll see the G-way usually from the sets that are rolling in that area. I'm on the East-Side of Fresno so I don't throw up the W like that (Less we talking Cali Coast stuff), but everyone from the West Area (very small Dogg Pounds) throw up the way 2pac/Eiht did.

In the end it's not a Nation Wide Gangsta Nation type of thing, it's really depends on which City/Area/set. Just like there is multiple ways to do the East Side. It just depends what the area is.
