and people criticized me for saying this album was going to be dope

Fred+Snoop, always equals dope.

But they work together about as often as Snoop and Dre work together.

I wonder what happened between them. They ain't been fuckin with each other like they used to.

Snoop kinda goes in phases with different producers. Post DR it was Battlecat and Meech heavy then the always anticipated Dre tracks and then Neptunes. Fred has never had more than 3 tracks on a Snoop album, I think the most he did was for PTCTBTB and that was 3. Track record speaks for itself what he can do but for whatever reason he is not on his projects more.

i wonder if he's writing his own lyrics on this album.

probably not
damn... and the fucked up part is that he has the skill and talent to write he's just being lazy. it's cool when the d.o.c. writes wit him they made some incredible shit on blue carpet he need to stop lettin random dudes write his rhymes.

yeah, but at the same time - Snoop is a clebrity, hes not snoop Doggy Dogg/Calvin broadus anymore.
hes got alot of plates on his table, and he cant do everythi. so its kinda logic.
and also, i think havin some rappers penning for him, is a chance for the lil younguns to shine a bit in the biz.. and making them some publishing.
 thats a motive.

like Problem, he wrote most of the songs on "Ego Trippin"..
no excuse. you should still write own rhymes... even if you need a little help.

Fred produced A LOT for Snoop, specially duing Eastsidaz-period.

Fred is doin his own thing in Paikistan wit the arabic hiphop-scene (building and creating the scene), thats the main reason why hes not workin wit Kurupt or Snoop, or any other american artists at the moment...
