I don't see how this could be a positive sign at all.  Interscope wanted Busta Rhymes to sell and he didn't.  Dre's biggest hurdle is that he's been out of the game for over a decade and the true fans who have been waiting 10 years for a song want something bigger than Kush.  So hopefully it is just a "warm up" but this track peaking in the 30's and sitting in the 50's on the top singles chart can't be what anyone expected for as long as we have waited.

It's not because YOU (and me, too) waited years for Detox that everyone in America waited for it 10 years. It's just a track to put Dr Dre's name in the charts, so people will at least know that he exist. It's 2011, not 2001.

thats how i feel too but at the same time I see this  as a 4min Beats Headphones commercial (the video)... as  for the the song i think they were just testing it.. Official or not this song did flop... its clear that Dres name aint what he used to be. ... like Jay Z , this guy could release an acapella song and he could be a hit..

is it really a surprise that the track is not blowing up? not much to do with the push imo, shit's got a huge video and everything. the track just isn't that good. the whole vibe of it is corny and predictable - whip cracking snare sounds, epic pianos and spiralling synths or not. this was definitely a song that the 'office' people were for, as slim the mobster was saying. that reflects badly on dre, or andre 3000 and 1 1 1! give me a break! dre has to put out a real single next, something real banging. i need a doctor was even worse. dre just about gets a pass for now, but is skating on very thin ice

there's a track that should be on detox which is supposed to be the super epic monster banging beat we've all been waiting for - one of the best things dre has ever cooked up. it was discussed by some 'insiders' a while back and i think it's likely to be the one that ended up featuring xzibit/nas. they probably gonna save it for a later single, just hope there is some other stuff that's really worth the wait.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH DETOX ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I do.  Read my signature...but add the word "headphones" to it.

It's not that good

Worst single of Dre's solo career.
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

corny & predictable: i could say the same about eminem's single with rihanna but it's a hit.

i'm not sure if it's a good thing that Kush didn't do the numbers(so far) that interscope hoped.

perhaps it's a good idea to put eminem on the next single & dre producing the song himself.

Lets be honest here, 10 years ago Dre dropped a weed song "The Next Episode" and it blew up.  There is all kinds of promotion for this thing: videos, mafia wars promotion, HP Computers commercials, Dr. Pepper soda commercial.  You can't just tell me they threw down all this money in computers, soda, internet games, and a music video that gets Dre and Snoop, the Jordan and Pippen of rap together, and it charts in the 50's after we waited 10 years.  This single should be poppin coast to coast top 10 and bangin out in every stereo like when Pac dropped "All Eyez On Me."  We haven't seen anything.  I hope Dre can come through but this is not looking good.  People are talkin about Interscope but if he can't touch that new fanbase (under 25) that wasn't there when the last album dropped it will be a lifeless effort.  At some point, Interscope is going to say we need to step back and cut our losses.  They aren't just going to pour all this money into all this stuff and not get any return.  Think about the Bishop Lamont Dre singles that didn't work out.  I hope Dre can come up huge with the next single, we need something like "Nuthin But A G' Thang."

This is actually a good point. The thing about it is this single has been getting real good air play at Power 106 and that 97.1 station. It's crazy cuz the airplay is there, it's just not blowing up like it should.

I personally think the track is real good, it's a very solid song. However it seems Dre waited a bit too long to drop this. He always talks about his troubles with being able to connect with the younger generation, but waiting even longer is not helping. Time waits for no one. Dre is no exception.

Hopefully he'll be able to pull through with something proper.
