--- Quote from: Stereotypical Afghan with Turban and Beard on January 03, 2003, 11:30:22 PM ---There is no way the Arabs will attempt to finish what they started once they get their land back, despite what this moron of a writer says.

So this guy is a moron because he has different views than you?
Woodrow:
"The dispute is purportedly over the principle of occupation — but next-door Syria holds far more Lebanese land than Israel does the West Bank. The dispute is supposedly over ethnic intolerance and gratuitous humiliation — but Kuwait, quite unlike Israel, ethnically cleansed their entire country of Palestinians after the Gulf War. The dispute is said to be about treating the "other" fairly — but Syria and Iraq summarily expelled over 7,000 Jews after the 1967 war, stole their property, and bragged that they had rid their country of them."

King Tech Quadafi:
1. he is a moron because he has his facts mixed up. Great job ignoring my post and concentrating on the most irrelevant of things.
2. yes Syria calls shots in Lebanon, they stepped in to protect their interests in the civil war. They have not cleansed lebanon of lebanese have they? yes they should leave, but this is a bad example. They are not oppresing the people per se. They simply hold power over the Lebanese govt and are there to maintain their presense.
Puppet govt? yes. Oppression? No. A good example would be the influence of the North Vietnamese over the South Vietnamese Viet Cong.
3. All those examples re: Syria, Iraq and Kuwait are all political decisions. Arafat supported Hussein during the Gulf War, and the Iraqi/Syrian actions were obvious reactions to Israels expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. What was the Israels expulsion of Palestinians a response to?

Englewood. I'll give you a few reasons why Palestinians made minor transgressions before 1967...
-The Western Powers of the World all got together and just decided in the early 1900's that they would give Jews their own state in Palestine. Without Palestinian consent. This was done mainly by Britian. The US didn't really come into the picture until 1948.
-Jews bought up some land from absent Arab landowners. They then began enforcing their own housing codes without Palestinian consent, and expanding their territory.
-They cut off goods to the Palestinians. And many times denied them access to trade and barred them from working and consuming at businesses.
