How much involvement does the White House have in the Middle East right now

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has been a longtime ally of the U.S., says anti-government protests in his capital were being 'run by the White House.' In neighboring Oman, protests continue for a fourth day.

Much of the media is focusing on Libya since we have had a long standing feud with Gadhafi, but what's being ignored is that most the dictators that have fallen are US backed dictators. This originally made me think that all of this was independent of Obama and the White House, but looking at things historically, Obama turned against Mubarak very quickly. In one week Obama was asking Mubarak to step down, but what's even more shocking is Obama has taken the same calculated steps with Gadhafi. Most US presidents would be out in front calling for this madman to step down. Obama has been unusually silent. This has lead me to believe that all of this, Obama is handling for the background and we may never know what his doing. I have not figured out why, as when I meet with a former member for the FBI who knew a ton about all the cover ups leading up to the Iraq War, she said it's easier to control people with dictators, and that we have put in many to d our will across the world, like in the Middle East. But these guys are falling and Obama is behind it. The question is why, because we actually have less control that we did before.

im pretty sure they were behind the egypt revolution.

They're not so much behind iran and lybia which is why theres so much violence going on there and no one sees it cuz there is no media.  So only way people get footage is thru bad cell phones and if they're lucky to be able to upload it on the net.  It's quite sad cuz no one knows whats going on there and whats happening to those people.

Nah, America was helping Mubarak until the last second when they bailed on him and organized the Supreme Council of Armed Forces to take over and preserve the dictatorship.

People in Egypt are still protesting even now to demand immediate free and fair elections.

a lot of independent alternative news websites are saying the CIA's handprint is in a lot of these revolutions that are taking place in north africa and the middle east for strategic control of resources reasons & other local imperialist reasons aswell

Here is the thing, Mubarak is just as effective, if not more so, a USA puppet as is a democracy in Egypt. Something is different here. I'm not even sure it's for the worst like most people think. I do think it's very lazy to just write off CIA and not look at the fact that these were USA back dictators, and Quadafi.
