That's ok if you got high quality rips. Depends on what you can get hold of :laugh:

indeed, there's a big difference between the old 192 rips and various dodgy encodes from back in the day and crispy VBR that are the scene standard now. newer versions of LAME have also improved MP3 sound quality a lot. ideally you want VBR V0/320 or itunes m4a as a pure digital copy. will be better when pure lossless is offered as a purchase choice for digital music. bandcamp is awesome.

if it's an old album, most go for very little on amazon marketplace these days, like a few pounds/euros/dollars. i'd pay that for something more obscure just to make my own rip and you get the hard copy to boot. paid for digital copies for older music are still a rip off in this regard. free downloads obviously work well too, where available 8)
