What we learned from 213 and Dre

With the recent passing of Nate Dogg (RIP) and the loss of his presence in hip hop music it sends a clear message from a musical standpoint, especially in regards to Detox.  If the Detox had been released around 2003 like it was originally intended, we probably would've saw Nate Dogg all over it.  Now, isntead, we are seeing a clone replace him on "Kush" (not Akon, but the other Nate-soundalike (I think his name is Kobe).  My point is that because Dre had to keep pushing back Detox for 7 years we lost possibly some of the greatest Nate Dogg assisted material we would've ever seen.  Also, the 213 follow-up album was supposed to come out and it never did because either Snoop was "too busy" with other projects or they all couldn't get together.  Now I really liked the first 213 album with "Joystick," "Soo Fly," "Lonely Girl," "Another Summer," but many said they wanted a pure 213 album where Warren G did the production on it rather than a bunch of other producers and many said the 213 album was Snoop-coached rather than a pure album (I personally liked it, but that's what people were saying on the forums at the time).  So with that in mind, my point is that time is very precious and because the West coast makes albums slower than any other coast we lost out on some classic collaborations like 213 second album and seeing Nate on Detox.  With that in mind, I think it should send Dr. Dre a message to make Detox a double album and include the original Death Row roster on it to unite one last time.  We just lost Nate, it would be good to see Daz, Kurupt, Rage, D.O.C., Sam Sneed, Warren G, RBX, and the OG Chronic crew get together for some of the tracks on Detox.  I say make it a double album and include the mainstream stuff with the mainstream producers but also reunite with the OG's on at least 8 tracks.  Otherwise, I doubt we will see it ever happen.  What do you all think?

First off, you have no idea what kind of material Dre and Snoop have with Nate on. I say shut the fuck up and let Dre make the kind of music Dre wants to make. Same with Snoop, DJ Quik, and whoever else. And if you personally liked the 213 album, don't worry about what "many people" think. There's no point in recreating the past simply for the sake of it. If these dudes truly want to reunite they will. If not, there's still great music out there.

First off, I was makin an observation and I didn't need you to come off the bench and play Dre's groupie (he's got enough females to do that) -- Many people have been let down by Dre's lack of music and he's had 8 years to make this album release it and many people agree with that here and across hip hop.  By some of your overly defensive posts, I think you would take a money shot from Dre on the forehead if he offered it up.

I wasn't talking strictly about Dre. I'm talking about all these Death Row dudes, Quik, Snoop, Warren G, Cube, whatever legend in the game that you feels need your career advice because you go club hopping through Miami every weekend and have picked up how to make hit records. You're a fan. I'm a fan. Neither one of us can tell any of these legends how to make a hit record any more than we can tell Lebron James how to win an NBA championship. Artists should do what inspires them to create. All that other shit is filler. Just because your train of thought is dictated by what "may people think" don't mean everybody is. If you got the formula, get your money together and start churning out some hit records, brother.

Why would I be happy? I like Nate Dogg he's a legend and so is Chris Brown.  Nate made that position in hip-hop as the go-to hook guy and Akon, T-Pain, Chris Brown, The Dream, Bobby Valentino, and Trey Songz followed him up.  I'm grateful for Nate's music.  Why can't we be happy with both why does it always have to be about not letting anyone in if they're not reppin California.  There's a lot of people on this forum who hate on an artist if they don't rep Cali.  I understand it's the 'West Coast' forum but why the hate?
