Carmelo isn't made of the same type of glass McGrady is.  McGrady's overall offense was better, his court vision is superior, he only played defense once every blue moon though.  He suffered a lot of bad luck where ever he went too but his work ethic didn't help him overcome it.

They both give about the same amount of effort.  To be fair to Tracy i've seen him man up and shut Dirk down in a playoff game.

mc grady was more talented but also more of a bitch. overall i'd of course rather take melo for 15 years over t-mac for 8-9 years.

I'd take T-Mac over Melo in his prime without a doubt... he could have been an all time great if he had a work ethic and the will ...

their both clutch, huge scorers, melo had that year where he hit 5 or 6 buzzer beating game winners, but mcgrady had that 13 points in 35 seconds. melo has only ONE playoff run, if he'd had one more id give him that, but i do think he had a better team than mcgrady did in any of his teams when he was in the playoffs.

T-Mac in his prime is better, but not MUCH better...they're pretty similar. beasts on offense, but don't play defense. T-Mac was a better playmaker and had more athleticism, while Melo is more of a pure scorer with a better shot. Overall, T-Mac in his prime wins, but like many already stated, his work-ethic was never there and he always had health issues.
