FYI: FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING Those who sell thousands/millions of ringtones don't need hard copies to be taken seriously. Those who have singles being played on radio and charted (especially if not signed directly to majors, exclusively) dont need CD pressed up to be taken seriously. Based on the ill-advised opinions of armchair record executives (and reading posts on here especially) if someone presses up and only sells 10,000 cds they will consider that a wack album. This is the digital age and as someone who studies and been apart of this industry, we can't do things as we've done "back in the day" First of all if you press up CD's from an independent perspective, you have to wait almost 3 months before you get 1st statement (payment) after manufacturers, etc. take their cut whereas digitally, based on what companies you deal with, you get 1st statement after first 30 days. So financially speaking, we (WestWorld) have always sold better digitally online then in stores the past few albums we've released. Of course I rather have my albums in all stores, but as we revamped our label and look into cost effectiveness and economic climate of consumers, this made more sense (dollars) for us. Money comes to our label first without a middle man getting a cut for doing something that we can do ourselves. of course it would be different being signed to a major label, but then all you would get is an advance and would have to wait months/years before you get statements. It's not even worth getting signed to a major financially speaking....too much money going out with very few dollars coming in like the current AmeriKKKan and other country's economy. But album will be out in June, based on feedback and I can tell you the entire project is Hutch's best work to date as a solo artist.
