Album of the year so far. It's amazing that this isn't the most discussed thread on this forum (fck a new Detox song; it's gonna blow like the rest of them anyway). Odd Future and Lil B are bringing the most creativity hip-hop has seen in years. Recognize

If we're talking Hip Hop, I still like Big KRIT's and Beastie Boys more than Goblin.

Just got done listening to the whole album......and quite frankly, it aint all that good to me. It's ok.

What really killed the album for me is the beats. Some beats were tolerable, couple of em i liked but overrall the production is not my cup of tea.
Another thing that really ruined the album for me is tyler feeling the need to put a bunch of disclaimers in his tracks and he sounds like he is complaining throughout the album about how ppl criticize odd future, how they perceive odd future and their style of music. I find it un-necessary for him to constantly explain himself and what his music is about over & over again. It would of been better for him to just make the music without the blogs, critics or any newly-found fame having any over-bearing affect on it. I like bastard better than this. I dont mean to sound like im taking tyler's music too seriously (which i know its not intended to be) but thats my opinion on the sound of album.

Again, im not dissing the album it just aint for me. I cant ride to it, move to it nor does IT move me.

With all that said, the tracks that i did like from the album is yonkers of course, tron cat, and nightmares. Nightmares is my most favorite i defintely felt is the most honest track of em all.

I agree with a good number of your points.  Especially how he's always on the defensive throughout the album.  It's not even necessary, he seems to worry more about the critics than the critics really worry about him.

Yeah, I agree about the whole defensive vibe (it's not that prevalent, though). The production is amazing throughout. Fav. track is "Tron Cat" (some of the most disturbing, but cleverly placed lyrics I've heard since maybe since Scarface's "Jesse James") Def has that manic Geto Boys vibe

Right. He acts like he dont give a fuck what anyone thinks of him but listening to him on goblin it sounds like he does. I just think that tyler just needs to accept the fact that no matter what he does or says, there are gonna be people who dont like his music nor will they understand it fully if at all. He wants to explain
himself and the meanings behind the shit he does, he wants to address all of the haters then he should do all that in the album liner-notes or in interviews. Hell, do it on a mixtape or on an album song or two but he dont have to do that throughout his entire album.

not really feeling it. the only songs im feeling are yonkers and burger. the rest sound like "shit for beats" don't get me wrong, he's got flow, his production kills it for me tho. and it just seems like some1 new is trying to go for the whole shock rap theme like an old-school eminem biter. this album doesnt live up to all the hype he's receiving as of late. this whole album is on some 1hit wonder shit, IMO. love it or hate it.

all you're doing is expressing the views of a person who wouldn't like OddFuture or this album.  That still doesn't mean anything in the bigger picture, not everybody is gonna like the shit you do in life.  hands down this is 1 of the most creative albums and pieces of music we've heard in a minute and it sticks out from alotta tha other shit in the pack.

The whole defensive vibe issue with the explanations and whatnot is supposed to be Wolf Hayley talking.
As he explained with Yonkers, he talks to his alter ego in the song and I'm pretty sure everytime that second voice comes in before, during and after songs, it's Wolf Hayley speaking (which is his imagination/thoughts compiled together).

All i did was express MY view on THIS album. I like tyler, earl and hodgy. I like all their albums, im just not feelin goblin for the reasons i explain specificially. Im also very aware that my opinion doesnt matter all that much and anyone can disagree or dismiss it as they please so its not like i feel important for it. To each his/her own tho.
