I AM PISSED OFF WHAY SHUD I DO!
« on: January 26, 2003, 07:49:27 PM »
I watched the superbowl on tv and there was a competition:

THis was the question:

Who was the first Special Teams player to win an MVP at a superbowl?

I got the answer which was Desmond Howard in about 20 seconds and I send it in to the television company, thru e-mail of course.  I was sure that I would win because it was first e-mail wins, and I done the question in about 20 seconds and its American Football in UK and it was very early in the morning.

I sat there and waited for the answers because I was certain I would win, anyways it comes on and the presenter announced that nobody got the right answer.  I was like what the fuck, I had posted in an earlier thread that I had entered another competition cos I found out the answer was Desmond Howard .

I am angry because I know I got the right answer, I sent it in very quickly.  What shud I do, I have sent the tv company an e-mail saying I sent in the right answer. but I wanan do sumit else!!

Graeme,

Many thanks for your entry to our third trivia competition during the Super
Bowl XXXVII broadcast on Sunday evening and let me first apologise for a
certain amount of angst that has arisen since.

As the Producer of the programme I am writing to tell you, that we have
received numerous complaints from viewers, stating that they had sent the
correct answer to the question. However, when we came off air at about
3.40am, we stated that no correct entries had been received to our final
question, concerning the only special teams player to have been named as a
Super Bowl MVP.

It was later discovered that due to technical difficulties between five's
headquarters in Long Acre and the ITN studio where we were broadcasting
from, there had been a backlog of emails building up, mainly due to the
weight of traffic. Hence we were unaware of any correct entries, even
though they had been submitted, when we came off air.

However, with time, it has been possible to establish, when the emails were
originally received at five, so in the interests of fair play, all those
correct entries received at five before we gave the answer and came off
air, will now be entered into a draw for the final prizes. The winner will
be named, along with the winner of our write-in competition, during
Sunday's NHL All-Star coverage which starts at ten past midnight.

I wish you luck and hope you will be watching to see if you are the winner
on Sunday.

Once again please accept my apologies for the misunderstanding.

Regards,

Peter Hussey
Producer,
NFL on five

Hello

You have just announced that nobody answered the question about the first
special teams player to win the MVP at the superbowl right.  I am sorry but
I got the right answer and I sent it in, I have proof of this and I would
like you to tell me why I havn't been awarded the prize.
