(as told to Jonathan Hay and Justin Melo)

We’re some big-time football fans here at Karmaloop so we reached out to publicist Jonathan Hay to get some insight on the lockout from three time Pro Bowl running back Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans. With the National Football League players and owners rumored to reach an agreement as early as Tuesday next week, it only made sense to get at one of the most honest ballers in the business.

Read on to see what Chris had to say about the lockout, his predictions for the upcoming season, record label Flashy Lifestyle Entertainment, and the inspiration behind his unique style:

Let’s talk about football since rumors are flying that the NFL lockout may end as early as next week; you’re obviously on the player’s side of things, so tell us about your insight on that:

About the lockout?

Yeah, in terms of it possibly coming to an end within the next week.

I feel like it’s going to come to an end. I think it’s very possible that Titans football is going to start on time.

What are you looking forward to this upcoming season once the lockout does end?

I’m looking forward to trying to make it into the playoffs and then getting into the Super Bowl.

What’s your personal prediction for total rush yards this upcoming season?

I want to be the first running back to run for 2,000 yards twice.

You've already done it once and have plenty of time to do it again…

Yeah. I’ve only played three years in this league, so I feel like I have plenty of time. I just need to take care of my body and be smart; things like that, and I feel like I have a lot of time left to play in this league.

What was your first impression of the Titans’ first round draft pick, quarterback Jake Locker?

I saw him out there. We ran some drills and little things like that. He’s looking pretty good. You can’t tell until you get to see him get out there with his pads on and actually see what’s going on.

Alongside Kenny Turner, you’re the co-owner of  record label Flashy Lifestyle Entertainment, so lets talk in terms of swag – what inspires your look?

I’m more of a flashy type of guy, with my friends and whoever is signed to [Flashy Lifestyle Ent]. We’re more of the fashionable type.

Describe your style for us:

I have more of a rock style, that type of clothes. I like [Converse] Chucks, fitted jeans and stuff like that. I’m more of an L.A. cat.

What are some of your favorite brands?

I like to wear Levi’s a lot… I love Polo… Levi’s, Polo and Chuck Taylors. Basically, my jeans are Levi’s and I mainly wear Polo.

If you could wear just one brand for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It would be Polo.

What do you think of the current state of fashion?

I pretty much think everybody is starting to turn over. Down South, the thing was to wear big clothes, baggy clothing and things like that. Now these days, you see more guys wearing tighter clothes, tighter shirts and things like that.  I like how the fashion thing is starting to turn around.

Any upcoming brands that you’re looking at?

No, not really, I wouldn’t say that.

Fuck off, he's coming back here :P. But I would be excited about Locker too, one of the biggest knocks on him was his inaccurate passing from the pocket, but part of that was because UW had an awful line protecting him. Aside from his ability to gain yards on the ground he's also exceptional at making passes outside the pocket. He's going to be a project for sure, but the dude has a great head on his shoulders and has a chance to be something special.
