So this event is happening tommorrow. Personally i think Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson should of been the main event. also it is a joke that joseph Benavidez vs. Eddie Wineland isnt on the main card, but Amir Sadollah vs. Duane Ludwig is.

Welterweight: Chris Lytle d. Dan Hardy (Submission – Round 3, 4:16)

What a spectacular way for Chris Lytle to end his UFC career. Lytle put on such an amazing show, as he’s want to do, and almost went the distance before Dan Hardy stupidly attempted a takedown and got caught by a guillotine. Lytle scored his record tenth Fight of the Night award with this win. Dan Hardy will somehow be keeping his job, despite his best UFC victory being a 2009 win over Mike Swick.

Lightweight: Ben Henderson d. Jim Miller (Unanimous Decision)

This fight somehow managed to exceed my lofty expectations as both fighters brought their A-game. Unfortunately for Jim Miller, this is probably the best that Ben Henderson has looked in his MMA career. Henderson was absolutely relentless and managed to withstand Miller’s submission attempts in taking a seriously impressive submission win.

This certainly muddles the lightweight title picture, as now Henderson, Clay Guida, and Melvin Guillard appear to be the most likely contenders. Guillard is booked against Joe Lauzon in October and a Guida vs. Guillard match could further clarify who the true number one contender is.

Lightweight: Donald Cerrone d. Charles Oliveira (TKO – Round 1, 3:01)

Cerrone looked really, really sharp in this TKO victory over Oliveira. Cerrone certainly held the edge with striking and took advantage. It looks like Oliveira almost got a taste of his own medicine with a potentially illegal knee from “Cowboy” Cerrone, but the strike appeared to barely be a clean one.

Welterweight: Duane Ludwig d. Amir Sadollah (Unanimous Decision)

I think we’ve seen the last of Amir Sadollah on the main card of any UFC event. Duane Ludwig used Amir Sadollah for target practice for the duration of this fight. I give some credit to Sadollah for taking a beating, but Ludwig should understandably get most of the credit for administering said beating.

Middleweight: Jared Hamman d. C.B. Dollaway (TKO – Round 2, 3:38)

C.B. Dollaway was unsuccessful in submitting Jared Hamman, so Hamman decided to punch Dollaway in the head a lot. That turned out to be a good strategy as Hamman got the TKO victory.

Middleweight: Ed Herman d. Kyle Noke (Submission – Round 1, 4:15)

Ed Herman is starting to look very dangerous after earning his second victory since his UFC return. He was able to submit a very good fighter in Kyle Noke and is quickly ascending the ranks at 185 lbs.

Bantamweight: Joseph Benavidez d. Eddie Wineland (Unanimous Decision)

This fight was pretty entertaining and Benavidez put on a show. His striking was crisp and he managed to keep Eddie Wineland at bay for the duration of the fight, winning every round of this fight. Benavidez should get a shot at the bantamweight title, though he’s somewhat far behind on the totem pole. First Demetrious Johnson, then the winner of Urijah Faber versus Brian Bowles, then maybe Scott Jorgensen? Somehow, Jorgensen is fighting Jeff Curran in October, but a Jorgensen vs. Benavidez fight makes the most sense right now.

Lightweight: Cole Miller d. T.J. O’Brien (Submission – Round 2, 2:08)

After a fairly uneventful first round, Cole Miller locked his opponent in a first round guillotine and took the submission win here. Miller and O’Brien have identical body types, so it almost looked like when you choose the same fighter twice in Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat and the characters have slightly different clothes or hair.

Light Heavyweight: Ronny Markes d. Karlos Vemola (Unanimous Decision)

Ronny Markes ground Karlos Vemola into the mat and was nothing short of smothering in his UFC debut. Markes was a highly touted prospect coming into the UFC and could see a bit of a step up in a deepish division.

Featherweight: Jim Hettes d. Alex Caceres (Submission – Round 2, 3:12)

So long, Bruce Leroy. After an entertaining first round, Hettes was finally able to pull of the submission as he also made his UFC debut. This should be it for Caceres in the UFC, who inexplicably received a couple of shots after proving little on the Ultimate Fighter reality series.

Lightweight: Jacob Volkmann d. Danny Castillo (Unanimous Decision)

Volkmann attempted maybe a couple dozen D’Arce chokes and controlled Danny Castillo enough to pull off the win. Jacob Volkmann then threatened to shoot President Obama in the head. Okay, that didn’t happen, but it’s funnier this way.

Bantamweight: Edwin Figueroa d. Jason Reinhardt (TKO – Round 2, 0:50)

This just in: Jason Reinhardt really, really sucks. Now he can go back to fighting nobodies on the Midwest MMA circuit to pad that worthless record of his.

Benavidez already lost twice to Cruz and refuses to fight Faber. I doubt he goes anywhere near the title until someone else besides Faber and Cruz has it.

Ben Henderson should fight Guida and the winner of that should get a title shot.

Faber doesnt wanna fight him either. you make it sound like he is ducking the fight. they both are just from the same camp. IMO Benavidez is the 2nd best fighter in that weight class.

For now we will have to settle with Demetrious Johnson who isnt top 5 to me (Cruz, Benavidez, Bowles, Jorgensen & Faber). still a great fighter and should be interesting.

Hendersons win vs Miller was amazing but the whole division could be mixed up after UFC 136. Maynard vs Edgar III should be great.
