Correct me if I'm wrong.

But tell me J. Cole doesn't have the same flow & delivery on every song. His lyrics are different, the beat sounds slightly different (I mean, all his productions sound similar too lol), but I swear he sounds the same on every song.

I just want to hear something different out of him. He's got talent, I can't argue that. He just needs to experiment with sounds.

I'm sort of glad Jay hasn't let him drop "Cole World" yet. It would turn out to be a thirteen song album that sounds identical.

One thing I do like though is his hooks. Not only are they dope, but it's the one part of the song that doesn't sound the same as every single verse he spits.

Dude spent too much time with Drake...

As far as I know the only songs where he's used a different flow from the rest of his songs are Work Out and Who's World Is This.
Looking foward to Cole World regardless though...

I mean. I got to give it a chance. We're talking about the guy who was suppose to take over & "save" Hip Hop lol.

I don't think Jay will be satified with Cole to let him drop his album until the average radio listener is satisfied with Cole & ask Lil' Wayne or Drake what has to be done to satisfy those people. Then if Cole does water his shit down, his true fans now will go suicidal. It's a bad situation.

Also, Jay is working on this album with Kanye & preparing to drop it & Jay recently said he started working on his next album. Kind of like Eminem on Aftermath, when Jay is making music, all other music from that label isn't getting promoted at all.

I was hyped as fuck about J. Cole too and thinking he'll do this and that for Hip Hop, but in reality he's still a new comer who's got shit loads to learn. But since he's only got wack artists to look for advice (as far as being commercially successful) he's going around in circles.
J. Cole's charm (to me) has been his subject matter I could relate to (stress, crushes, relationships etc...), dude wasn't exactly a dope vocalist when it came to rapping. He can change his flow a little, but when he does he'll need help from the beat to make it work (S&M RMX comes to mind) and his own beats vary in quality. Most of all he needs more buzz. But like you said, his label will probably put all of it's marketing budget for Jay & Kanye's album since that has a higher chance of success as opposed to Cole World. I'd suggest Cole try becoming an overnight youtube celebrity like Rebecca Black or Antoine Dodson. Or something like a meme (those worked wonders for Xzibit and Kanye did they not?). The more Cole's name gets out there the better...

He's a pretty boring, generic mc. Lost & found rap. No lane.
