this still isnt looking good for cung le.

I'd say this is good for Cung Le. Wand has a weak chin now. Cung can kick his head off and avoid those wild punches.

its better than Vitor but Silva is looking to show he still has it. obviously its way better than fighting Belfort. i will make a prediction later but Silva is a tough 1st opponent.. Silva obviously isnt what he used to be but neither is cung le. Silva is the younger of the 2.

But Silva's body is older so far as the toll fighting has taken on it. His style of fighting is prone to taking hits, and that does does not go well with the weak chin he has now. What fight of his in the last 5 years convinces you he's still a great fighter?

5 years? did you see him knock out Keith Jardine? that was vicious.
Bisping is also a great fighter he took out.
and although he lost his fights with Rich Franklin & Chuck Liddell were wars.

I'm not sure who i would pick but i still have Silva in my top 20 middleweights in MMA. and top 15 in the UFC.

lol @ thinking beating Keith Jardine makes him great. Also I wouldn't say that he "took out" Bisping, another overrated fighter. That fight was very close. So unless you think Cung Le is complete chump meat, its a great matchup for him. If Cung Le is to make an impact in the ufc, he needs to fight at least a mid-tier guy. And Silva is definitely no more than mid tier right now.

I would say this fight is good for Silva too though. He's a legend so they can't throw him a nobody, and he if he faces an elite fighter it will likely spell an embarrassing end to his career. So its a decent idea to face him against the untested Cung. This fight should let us all know if Wand needs to retire at this point, and/or if Cung Le belongs in the ufc.

i think knocking out someone who has beaten Chuck Liddell, Brandon Vera and Forrest Griffin is impressive. although Jardine is not a great fighter he did it within 36 seconds and right after Jardine was coming off his win against Liddell. this is good for cung le compared to Belfort. but i still think it is a super tough fight. and you are right that he isnt top tier anymore he isnt in contention for the belt but he is still a fighter i want to see fight. also in MMA news Bret Rogers lost his 1st fight in titan FC. karma.
