i found this post on TQ´s forum and dude is 100% right
What's up folks..I had to write down my opinion of this new TQ Album last year "Kind Of Blue" and some general words about his previous albums like Paradise and Listen. I don't know much about the deals he made with Publishers and Distribution Labels and why he never gets the attention he deserves, so I'm gonna talk just 4 the music part of the albums. "They Never Saw Me Coming" was great. I mean it had everything..Real lyrics coming from the heart harmonizing with great instrumentals by Mike Mosley, Jazze Pha and others. "The Second Coming" was very good too, but not as much as his his first. On "Listen", "Gemini" & "Paradise", my boy T is still the gangsta singer we use to know but something is wrong. These albums had good songs and some of them are Classics (My favorite "Gone But Not Forgotten", but there is too much SKIP material too. I don't talk about the lyrics cause T is always on a high level. I'm talking mostly about the instrumentals and the way he combined his lyrics on 'em. "Kind Of Blue" is something different from his previous work. It has good elements showing an other music side of TQ that we're used to. It's good and interesting.
I'm listening to this dude since the Westside days and what I'm willing to say is that DIE HARD TQ LISTENERS like myself really wanna hear that original Gangsta TQ music with THE RIGHT instrumentals. In my opinion TQ doesn't have to stay relevant to todays music to survive. People who know who T is and who listen to him, they do it exactly because of this fact. Because he's different. He's real and true. I think that's the main reason why todays Westcoast Hip Hop don't get much attention. Most of them do music similar to any other music you hear today. They lost Originality. And that's something that TQ always had, compared to others.
Fellas, I don't know If I'm right or wrong I'm just sayin' my opinion, sayin what I'm feelin right now.
I would love to hear TQ working again with people like Mike Mosley, DPG and some other hot cats out there like Roccett or Crooked I. And finally get some good distribution deal.
I live in Europe, Germany and I hear nowadays the most artist from the US doing this Europe-Electro-Music shit, because they like it or because they wanna gain some fame over here too, but I wanna say sumthin...Damn wussup with y'all. We listen to U dudes because you were doing Ur own music thang and now U doing the shit Europe dudes do out here. Fuck...I wanna time machine get back to the old days..
In the end of the day we all love TQ for being who he is.
I don't say he shouldn't do Electro because he's an artist and he can make what he feels right to do. I'm just sayin that I miss some of that good ol music...and...it's not old..It's Original..Keep doin' it. Peace

TQ should go back to what made him popular in the first place, rather than trying to cater to what's popular at the moment
