Prime's Getaway

[Koncept]

standing on the corner during a dry hot day//
my boy prime was tiring to lay some paper away//
when a car rolled up to his place with unfamiliar plates and a new face//
they asked for an eighth, got it and drove away//
next thing you know a van screeches to a stop//
oh shit, he’d been set up by the cops//
a group of deep blue charges onto the scene//
prime’s already ran a block, fuck the pain in his spleen//
in his waist he placed a glock just in case for this type of a thing//
he starts to believe he might have to squeeze, but that's just the adrenalin talking//
his hart races as he’s fighting to fill his lungs, he’s killing him self for some ones//
but he still runs, thinking he can beat the police, thinking of his mama and niece//
he sprints to parking lot, but 5-0’s still close, now he’s thinking survival//
he runs until he meets a brick wall, asthma acting up, he’s ready to fall//
he turns and sees three police officers armed to the teeth//
struggling to breath, he still can’t admit defeat//
they’re screaming, “drop to your knees”, all he hears is his hart beat//
in a haze he reaches for his glock and his body just drops//
it’s too late, he’s already been shot...

laying on the ground with yellow ribbon all around, the blood soaks his white shirt red//
two slugs in the chest, one in the head, at his funeral, “he will be remembered” is what the preacher said//  
no one shed a tear for the reason he died, everyone was somber while his momma cried//
prime lived his life, he made a sacrifice, don’t let the money run your lives//
