Marlins, Reyes Agree To Six-Year DealBy Zach Links [December 4, 2011 at 9:13pm CST]The Marlins have made the first big splash of the Winter Meetings as they have agreed to a six-year, $106MM deal with Jose Reyes, pending a physical, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). The deal does not include a no-trade clause, Rosenthal adds (via Twitter).Shortly after the news of the offer hit the press, Mets GM Sandy Alderson quickly conceded to reporters that the Mets would not be able to compete, tweets Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com. The Mets were willing to go to a five-year deal for $75-85MM with an option for a sixth year to take the deal over $100MM, but felt that they could not push their offer any further, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (via Twitter).
