If the Lakers get Paul AND Howard, I am cancelling my league pass right there with the news on espn. Right in the very moment of it. I am not making this up. What good is it to sweep the fucking Lakers when they are just going to sign the best players for the two most important positions in the league? At least Odom is even more unhappy than me right now.

I assume they have already worked out some Bynum for Dwight type of deal, as I figure they wouldn't have done this otherwise...

C - Bynum (bad knees)
PF - MLE signing (bad player)
SF - World Peace (headcase)
SG - Bryant (bad knee, aging)
PG - Paul (bad knee)
6th man - Luke Walton (joke)

pretty terrible.

If they get Howard, they are pretty unbeatable unless they totally fuck it up. Funny thing will be how Kobe is gonna deal with being the 3rd best player on the team. I assume he will go crazy.

Unfair. The NBA owns the Hornets and many owners are unhappy with the trade and are trying to get it called off.

Yeah, I have to admit, it is pretty fucked up that a league owned team would shift the balance of power in the league so blatantly, especially if the favored team was as profitable to the league's ratings and overall income as the Lakers..

NBA 'pulled plug' on Chris Paul to Lakers trade

On the same day that reports indicated that the New Orleans Hornets had engineered a 3-team trade that would have sent All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, the trade, which also was to include the Houston Rockets, will not take place as expected.

Yahoo Sports reports that the NBA, which owns the Hornets and has veto power over all personnel moves, stepped in after prompting from unnamed NBA owners at Thursday's Board of Governors meeting. 

The NBA has killed the proposed deal to send Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo! Sports. The NBA has caved to pressure from owners that the appearance of this deal, on heels of lockout, had to be stopped, sources tell Y! Sports. "The deal is off," a source involved in the talks tells Y! Sports. "It's dead."

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com confirmed that the blockbuster deal is now "dead" and that the NBA "pulled the plug" on the trade.

As word of the deal's rejection spread, Paul posted a one-word message on Twitter: "Wow."

True. It's a conflict of interest for the NBA to own one of its franchises in the first place. Never-mind having actual control of personal moves.
