A lot. Add that to the exchange rate crisis Japan is facing now, as well as a billion other problems it's got (not including those caused by the tsunami or earthquake), and I see Japan becoming part of China or America's 51st state within the next 4 or 5 decades...

I think with Japan, and the world relying on them a lot for technology. Maybe not as much as they used to, but they still look at Japan for development

United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and a lot of those types of countries depend on Japan a lot, but on the other hand, Japan are relying on the US for their nuclear at the moment, and also Russia for gas. I guess they could become apart of it within the next 20 years or so, but my bet would be on China if any... Russia is already starting to be considered as part of Europe. Ridiculous as it is, they are apart of "European" sporting competitions. Guess this is the start to combining all these countries together to make them easier to manage

Those from non-Asian countries might think that, but more than 75% of Japan's population hates China and always will. Whereas Japanese people have always looked up to America and Russia since WWII ended.
