Author Topic: Record executive David Michery claims none of Nate's rapper friends would help  (Read 1121 times)

I'm not saying they cover the entire thing, fuck no, If I had enough money I'd cover as much as possible, but if my fucking friend was damn near death and this hospital can save him, I'd help money-wise if possible. I'm not saying until I sink into debt, but half these rappers could of at the very least did a benefit concert. In the end its still Nates debt, but your telling me if you had the green, you wouldn't help? not even a little? I'd have friends broke as fuck, I ended up buying them food for the month, When I Had nothing, they'd help via food stamps, and where just average motherfuckers living normal lives, But these celebrities can't even foster to help get a homie outta debt? not even a little? That's bullshit, Officier RIckey gets paid, but your friend who helped you gain success gets to eat shit and die? That's bullshit on any level, course that's just my thought.
I would help out my friends if I could too. However, that is a choice I would make because I want to. I should not be villafied if I didn't nor made a hero if I do. A benefit concert would be great but you need to understand that there may or may not be something off. I'm not going to be so bold as to suggest anything when I really only have a bunch of things that stick out. Snoop was selling the shirts so that money should be going to take care of Nate. Dre has known to be charitable in the past. He made a donation to help out Sam Sneed when he had the brain surgery or whatever at a time when I believe, they were estranged and he helped out Big Pimpin' when he had medical issues. Daz has commented about the people who are managing Nate's estate being suspect but that's just one accusation. The biggest sign that something is a little out there is that Nate has publishing on at least three or four of the biggest selling albums in the last 10-12 years plus appearances on loads of singles. I can understand someone who hasn't been having hit records since the 90's being in bad finiancial shape but it seems strange that someone who was appearing consistently on big-selling records for Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Snoop did not have money to pay his medical bills. We are talking about one of the few people to leave Death Row Records with the rights to his music so this is someone who semingly had business savy. Something doesn't add up here.

If your friend is in the hospital dying and you got the means to save them and you dont you a piece of shit plain n simple. Some things in this world more important than money.
He didn't die of unpaid medical bills.
his friends should of taken care of that if he couldn't. because of him they have had many hits. tell me i'm lying.

Well, seeing as you're stating an opinion, it's kind of hard to say you're lying. Yes, Nate has contributed to quite a few hit records in his time. No doubt. If we're going by that logic, are all the artists who Snoop helped indebted to pick up his sick daughter's medical bills or should Jimmy Iovine or one of Dre's artists pay his son's funeral expenses?

I don't believe any of this shit. I believe the medical bills are probably brutal but I also know how many hit records Nate was involved with....That being said if he didn't have money it got wasted on something and I don't believe it did, it's there somewhere and still coming in royalties i'm sure.

If he was in financial trouble especially due to his illness there's no question in my mind everyone of these guys accused of not helping, did.

People are haters and just want attention, let the man rest in peace and leave his friends to mourn out of good will.

Even if his friends didn't help out, it really isn't their responsibility. I mean, it sucks and all...but he shoulda had his shit in order.  Besides, there are ways to get necessary  medical help if you aint got shit...so who know what really went down.

warren is a nigga just like us on here! i mean dude hardly puts out music like that to make enough money. he's not that fresh def jam warren g. he's the no label warren g struggling to make a living. and im pretty sure thoe male enhancement commercials aint paying that much.
True.  Just look back -- he got screwed out of his biggest single he ever had before it was even a hit.  I think the story was that Suge basically punked him into giving the song to him for the Above the Rim soundtrack, while in return, he could use it on his own album but without getting any revenue from Above the Rim's album sales.  And it's not likely that Warren had a great record deal back then with Def Jam, and his sales only slid from that point forward.

I remember when I was in college, I used to be a rep for SWAT, which was one of those winter/spring break trip companies.  I think Treach (of NBN) was supposed to be at one of the trips (I think it was one in January 2005), but at the last minute they had Warren G instead (which was a surprise, though I don't remember if Treach backed out at the last second), and he performed a few songs.  But SWAT wasn't a huge company, and I highly doubt that Warren G got more than a couple grand for that gig.  Fast forward to now, and he probably is performing even less often and probably making less than a lot of us since it's not like people are seeking him out to do beats or guest verses.

Well Warren G, along with basically almost every other westcoast artist from the G-Funk era, does a lot of lowrider events. Mainly cause G-Funk is the main type of rap lowriders listen to. So it's not like they aren't eating,  they just aren't doing major touring like they used to.

If it's not about music then why bring up how many hits Nate has made for them? If it's friends, keep it at that friend level. Yes, friends should want to help out their other friends but this idea of being indebted or owing your friends is kind of foolish thinking to me. Do because you want to. Not because you feel obligated.

check his discograghy then tell me why i brought it up. i wasn't only referring to snoop. he had many friends in the industry but like you said do it because you want to and not cause you have to. with situations like these that happen every day and if this is friendship i don't need enemies... i'm elated to just have like one or two friends.
