Thank you. And I like Scarface, but it's not even close. Godfather 2 was one of the great pieces of film history. Scarface was a really cool action gangster flick.

Agreed.  Scarface is just really entertaining because Tony Montana was just a crazy bad ass.  More people can relate to that story (or emulate it), coming from the bottom and making your way up the underworld totem pole.  But Godfather II is considered one of the greatest movies of all time by tons of people (not just the hip-hop community) for a reason.

It's clearly been a long time since either of you two have seen Scarface.

Action flick? Just entertaining because Tony is a badass? LOL

It's a long movie with a few short (albeit iconic) action scenes. A masterpiece in just pure cinematography. The way it has been filmed and edited is... soothing. Not to mention the best soundtrack ever, Moroder is a genius. And the story is genius too, it shows how banks, cops, lawyers, and Miami business' in general knowingly and willingly benefited the most from the drug trade - and got off scott free while Tony, well we know what happened to him. Just like in real life. In fact real life is so often so close to Scarface you sometimes have to wonder if it's life imitating art or vice versa (for both sides of the law).

Man I love that movie.

Have Godfather 2 now but haven't watched it yet.

Fine, that's your opinion. But Scarface is completely predictable. Rise and fall of a drug lord. These movies don't have happy endings.

Godfather, of course. This is a joke, right?

It simply doesn't have the depth that film like Godfather 1 or 2 have. If the thread said Scarface or Godfather 3 we may have a debate. Is Scarface beter than comparable films of it's type like American Gangster? sure why not. The way you described why Scarface is good says it all. It, the film, days t all, very heavy handedly. It's not Paul Haggis Crash bad, but it's not Godfather. It's not the big things in GF2 that make it great, like Michael having Fredo killed, it's the little things in GF 2 like Hyman Roth asking for a smaller piece of cake, or Frank Pentangeli seeing his brother in the courtroom.
