Your Kansas City Royals 2012 Preview (Open Season tonight on ESPN against Pujos)

It was only a 10 year plan because for a number of years, you guys were one of the worst run franchises in sports. Instead of drafting the best talent available the Royals took the cheap route. And instead of investing in the draft your owner green lit horrible signings like Jose Guillen. The Royals fortunes didn't change until they actually started spending on the draft. All that said I like what the Royals are doing and hopefully the kids live up to the potential because the fans deserve it. But I don't see them contending this year. But the division is weak outside of the Tigers so I see them having their first winning season in what seems to be forever.

Spot on. It's cool to see people from other cities that are up on the Royals...
Yeah, part of the problem was that for many years they didn't want to pay for those high round draft picks. Then finally that changed. But it really was a 10 year plan. In fact, I think our GM actually said something to that affect. Don't know exactly how it came out, I will have to look it up, but all the big time bloggers around here refer to it.

LOL. Teams all build differently and we've only been going young for two seasons. When we're rebuilding we're-stocking the team and farm system and omitting all the crap that Bevasi left us with (draft picks+bad contracts) Taking ten years to rebuild with young players like your shit team did, that's when you know you suck as an organization. LMAO, ten years rebuilding with young players? That's not really normal man..

Read my opening post, I'm in total agreement with you. Ten years to rebuild a team is bullshit. Nobody in Kansas City agrees with that except the owner and GM, because the owner was making money.
But regardless that 10 years is now over. And now I can finally say that some other teams actually suck more than the Royals do. And that team is the Mariners.

Ok, I see what you're saying. But there's no need to hate on the most hated market (Northwest). And we'll see who has the better record at the end of this year (I don't know shit about the Royals).
Javii:
The Royals are the team that had no shot of winning anything, but insisted in giving Guillen and Meche multiple year contracts as if they're a big market team. Even big market teams should be fucking criticized for signing those players. My fucking Dodgers signed Harang and Capuano, and we were on a strict budget.

Part of the fun of the Royals moving up in the world is that there are now actually teams that are worse than the Royals. So I have to have my fun talking shit on those few teams. The Royals play the Mariners often throughout the year, and the only player I ever remember hurting us from you guys is the Japanese lead-off hitter Suzuki. That guy is awesome. Other than that I remember the Mariners being pretty weak.
