girl friends who hate rap

Trauma-san:
Str8 up, Girls hate rap because they're naturally more spiritual then guys.  Something inside of them tells them that it's negative, and it is, honestly.  Guys don't care as much, because we're less spiritual.  Most of the girls I've dated will listen to hiphop that's positive, like De La Soul and crap, but won't listen to much gangsta rap.  Usually they'll listen to Snoop but only if it's something poppy like a party song.

I respect your opinion.. however, for one, I don't think girls are more spiritual then guys.  And for two, I don't think that rap music is negetive.  I think what is negetive is the circumstances that many of these rappers grew up in, and that hip-hop is their artistic release and spiritual salvation through expression of self.  True artists deeply wish to be understood, and if their music comes off too aggressive, it is because their strong desire to be understood.  And disinterest, hipocrisy, and misunderstanding in the world upsets them.

On the other hand, non-hip-hop artists have accepted failure and givin up on understanding themselves, the world, and ever being understood by another.  Therefore, they are either vague, understated, or simply trying to say whatever is trendy.

Those are my thoughts on the subject.  No better then your own.  Just my perspective.
