2:47PM EST November 19. 2012 - MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy is having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, an ominous sign for a player trying to come back from years of chronic knee issues.

The Timberwolves say Roy is having the surgery Monday in the Twin Cities. The timetable for recovery will be determined after surgery.

Roy signed a two-year deal with Minnesota in the offseason after sitting out all of last year. He had injections in his knees over the summer that made them feel much better, and he was optimistic he could resume his basketball career.

He missed a few days before the start of the regular season with knee soreness and only played five games before needing surgery, the seventh of his career dating to high school.

The Oregonian first reported the surgery. Roy played seven seasons for the Portland Trail Blazers and was anticipating his return Friday when the Timberwolves played there.

Damn that's whack, dude can't catch a break. Hate to see it happen but sadly I didn't have much faith in his comeback to begin with.

Probably would have been the best SG in the L rite now if it wasnt for all his knee problems.

^ Eh I'd say top 5 not the best though.
