I2G kicked it with Gonzoe for an exclusive interview. Gonzoe gives his thoughts on his latest album, The Dispensary, upcoming projects, what happened with Kausion and The Regime and much more so check it out, great read.
Illuminati 2G is here with Gonzoe, how’s it going?
What’s good with ya man?
Chillin. You just recently dropped your new album entitled The Dispensary. Tell me about the album and how it came together for you.
The Dispensary album was one that I wanted to do for all the smokers out there. Smoking is something I do everyday so the album is for all my stoners out there it’s an album that they can call their own. It’s an album that they can call their own personally from Gonzoe.
Do you have any other singles or videos set to drop from the project?
I dropped the Smells Like Green Spirit video a while back and that has been getting great feedback. I am pretty much moving on from that project and not dropping anymore videos or singles from that project.
I dropped the Liquid mixtape a little bit ago and I am dropping a street album with DJ Age entitled Insanity Meets Reality and that should be out in the next 3 months. I am also gearing up for my next solo album, I don’t know what the name of it is going to be but I am going to drop 4 or 5 singles for it.
One of my favorite albums of all time and one that I consider a west coast classic is Kausion- South Central Los Skanless. Is there any good memories that you have in making that album and whatever happened to the group after the album?
All the memories for me were good up until 2pac got killed. The group broke up because of the industry. The car was going one way and none of us were driving it, we were all in the backseat and some of us wanted to turn left, right, disagreements, money issues with where royalties were going.
I felt after all that it was better for me to go solo and that was what I did. Thank God that I did because you see after I did, no one dropped music after that and it seemed like…, I don’t want to say the word blackballed, but all that shit is enough to drive a nigga crazy.
For us being so young, that is exactly what it did, drive us crazy. This music shit is crazy.
Sorry to hear that, that album was one of my favorite west coast albums. Appreciate that album from you guys.
I appreciate that.
What’s going on with Regime?
Well the Regime is something that we built from the ground up. It was me and my homies and we dropped All Out War and once again…, well money was made from All Out War.
Money did not go in the right places and Yuk basically kept all the money. I seen a little bit of money from it but alot of the other cats they did not get their split from the album.
I seen some of the money because I was supposed to drop a mixtape through them, so I had got an advance on the project, which actually was money that was from the group project.
Anyways, long story short, once again greed, money not being appropriated correctly, and also making a mockery of what’s real on the streets. Beef with cats you don’t even know just because, shit that will get a nigga’s head popped off in the streets.
I am really out here in these streets, so I am always going to be from the Regime, because I helped built that shit from the ground up, the original Regime. I am a real nigga and I am not going to sugarcoat it, but it became a place for all the dickriders and lost souls to go.
People just coming through with no credentials and think they are going to get on and no one going through their application with a fine toothed comb. That was the place for them and once shit started to get like that, it became watered down.
Niggas getting slapped up and robbed all the time, it got so crazy that I did not want my name associated with all that. Motherfuckers have 2 hands and fists to ball up and you can fight back, but you choose not to, you do a song about it.
All that is going to lead to is another nigga punching you in the face and you will not fight back and do another song about it. Then expect your boys to fight for you, come on man I was Gonzoe before I got into the group. That is not for me but there are niggas out there that are willing to be a crash dummy just to hang around people just to say I am from the Regime and I am going to do a show with Yukmouth.
That shit is wack, we had something special with that group. Straight up.
Absolutely. Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates?
Right now I am in the lab but I know I am going to Australia and Sweden but I am not sure on the dates.
What is your website information?

. Thanks to yall for letting a nigga express himself through this interview. I am not one of those cats that will announce a release date then start beefing with niggas or putting out pictures of me shot.
That shit is all garbage man, keep that shit 100 and if you are doing that, how can you put all your business out there in the street? A real nigga know when someone is fugazi, I mean how can you not if it’s for real? Illuminati 2G, my niggas.
Appreciate the time, we will have to do it again real soon.
My guy, appreciate ya.
