BJV:
Idle Hands (1999)
Late 90s horror comedy. I love bad movies and this is definitely one of them.

"Sliding Doors" 1998 Gwyneth Paltro. 5 STARS!!!!!
Caught a good 90's movie I hadn't seen. "Sliding Doors" starring Gwyneth Paltro. Has a great, late 90's feel and fits in with all the rich and dynamic films that came out in that era that hit on a wide range of topics. The movie is actually really deep and thought-provoking, stimulating, because it deals with parallel lives. So, in one version Paltro's character misses the train by one second and in the other version she catches the train by one second. And then their lives play out in a side by side contrast and the only way you really know the difference is that in the one where she misses the train she gets a bump on her head, and also has a friend who suggests a different hairstyle. So you can always easily tell which of the two parallel universes she's in because in one she just has the same long hair the whole time.
It's really cool because at some points Version A of herself almost still ends up like Version B and it gives the viewer a message like, "oh, so things work out the same just in a slightly different route" but at other moments Version A and B are very different an even opposites. So it plays some nice tricks on the mind and gives the brain a massage. It's sort of like "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Being John Malcovich", "The Air I Breathe", or "Mr. Nobody". One of those mindbending twist of fate movies.
This one is a laid back British Romantic Comedy but also very deep and rich in philosophical drama. I also recommend all the similar movies I mentioned above. These mind-bending movies give your brain a massage.
