Reports: Tyreke Evans, Pelicans agree to $44 million deal, Kings can still match

By The Sports Xchange | The SportsXchange – 1 hour 15 minutes ago

Reports late Wednesday had Sacramento Kings free-agent guard Tyreke Evans agreeing to a four-year, $44-million offer sheet with the New Orleans Pelicans.
While original reports had the Pelicans' offer at $48 million, further reports had the deal revised to $11 million per year, or $44 million total, according to one report on CBSSports.com.
The Kings now have three days to match the Pelicans' offer, beginning on July 10.
However, even if the Pelicans do wind up with Evans, it could present a problem of where he'd fit on the team. Because Eric Gordon is the team's No. 1 guard, and the Pelicans are not keen on trading Gordon after fighting so hard to keep him after last season, they may be forced to move Evans to small forward, a position he had mixed success at times while with the Kings.
In addition, the Pelicans also have another huge contract with Jrue Holiday, who has $30 million left on his deal with the team.
The 2010 NBA Rookie of the Year, Evans has been up and down since, battling a persistent case of plantar fasciitis. However, he still managed to average 18 points, five rebounds and four assists on 48 percent shooting this past season with the Kings.

  • The greatest entertainer ever.
Holiday, Evans, Vazquez, Davis, Gordon. That's dope.

Sucks for my hopes for two 76er lottery picks.

this team is guard heavy, and evans has a bad history when he gets put on the floor where he doesnt belong

but - evans will be playing for someone other than keith smart which can only help his career
Money like Draymond Green.....yuuup
