Patriots release statement on Alfonzo Dennard arrest

New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Thursday. Later in the day, the Patriots released their response:

"The New England Patriots are extremely disappointed to learn of Alfonzo Dennard's arrest. We take this matter very seriously and are working to get more information on the incident."

Dennard has run afoul of the law in the past. Five days before the 2012 NFL Draft, he was arrested for assault of a police officer and subsequently fell to the Patriots in the seventh round. There is no word yet how the Patriots will handle their latest off-field player problem.

______________

Patriots history of drafting scumbags is finally catching up with them

I get some good lulz out of the fact that you detest the NFL team in the same town as your favorite NBA team

That can happen.  There's a person out there who's from no-cal who likes the local mlb & nba team=giants & warriors, but hates both the raiders & 49ers[steelers fan].  Some people out there like all the local teams except one, it happens.

my uncle has been a Yankees and Patriots fan since the 1960's (he's old) - it doesn't get any odder than that  (well I do run into a few Jets/Red Sox fans)

Lol who roots against local teams? I understand if you were raised on certain team, from a different area, etc, but outside of that it's pretty chump.

The person had an uncle who liked the steelers.  When both the raiders/steelers were considered archrivals.  I hate most steeler fans but would you wanna be a fan of certain teams whose fans don't know how 2 act right?  Highly unlikely!  Especially the no-cal raider & niner fans.  They might drive people to like someone else.

In the NFC, there were certain reasons I liked the Vikings but the Rams weren't anything special to me.  Raiders, it was their 1st year in L.A. when I 1st started watching football.  But sadly, their home games were blacked out all the time.  Hard to fully like a team when they're always blacked out.  6 televised home games in 13 years.  So i'd watch other teams, just a fan of the sport.
The one's who are actually whack are those who wanna like the archrival city/teams.  So-cals, especially dodger fans liking the 40whiners, even though the city of Frisco hates L.A. & L.A. fans as much as hitler hates jews.  And liking the Yankees even though NYers talk the most shit about the west coast, especially california, but 1/4 of them still keep moving to this state.  Never heard of Mets fans being anti-west coast.  And when the donkeys won their superbowls, there were a lot of so-cals who jumped on their bandwagon.  B4 winning a SB, there were 4 donkey fans in so-cal.  And the donkeys are the raiders archrival.  I worked with someone in the late 90's who became a donkeys fan because the raiders moved back to oakland.  She'd call them raider traitor.
Come to think of it, some of these local media guys are such hypocritical homers that why would I wanna like certain local teams?

It acutally makes sense nowadays to be a Yankees & Pats fan.  The chowds won't like what I say but the truth is the truth.  Those 2 teams are alike, both are holier than thou hypocrites & both evil empire teams.  And the pats fans are the nfl version of most laker fans-not a compliment.
