Kobe + Melo could be dangerous..

You get and athletic scoring guard that can play some defense (Eric Gordon maybe) and some young athletic role players, plus Pau wouldn't have have any pressure on him as the third option (only real option down low, so that would do him wonders). I could see Carmelo going to LA and with Kobe's career in the midst of his twilight years, I could see him defer to Melo a bit, not too much though.. we are talking about Kobe Bryant.

Melo + Bron would never work, nor would Kobe + Bron. As a true basketball fan, I dont want to see that, nor did I want to see MJ + Magic together. The basketball gods would be furious.

Oh, and Phil Jackson returns to the LAkers before Kobe retires, mark my words

If the Lakers fire D'Antoni then I can see Carmelo coming to the Lakers. Even if they don't get LeBron, they could sign someone like Kevin love who wants out of Minnesota.
Imagine a starting lineup of:

Steve Nash
Kobe Bryant
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Love
Pau Gasol

Yeah, the Lakers would definitely be contenders. The Lakers might need to play with 2 balls on offense to make it work, but they'd be contenders.
