Lol, as I said, it's obviously great to have a big-time shortstop. But SS is not a prototypical position in terms of noteworthy offensive production. The fact that someone would solely bring up a shortstops batting average to discredit a team is pretty silly.

It doesn't matter if our shortstop is hitting .238 right now, when he makes game winning plays on defense like he did tonight!  1-0 gets fat ass at the plate!  He also had two dazzling plays in the 7th!

Our manager is getting smart and sees that the end is near and that we have the most dominant bullpen in the league.  He pulled Earvin after like 70 pitches and went to the pen who continued to lock down the shutout.  Can't fuck wit da Royals niccaz!!!!!!!!!!!

The Royals chances of passing four teams to get to the second WC is slim-to-none. Especially when you consider that:
*Cleveland has an easy schedule where their only "threat" is a series again the Royals, everything else is against the White Sox, Astros and Twins
*The Yankees are still in it and refuse to die despite the fact that their players are still getting injured
*The Rays, despite having a tough start to September, are still a deadly threat with a combination of good pitching and surprisingly good offense featuring the only hitter the Royals drafted that's actually good
*The Orioles are just as alive and deadly as anyone else
