LMAO. Did I list every single star for each franchise. Hell, I didn't even list all the Yankees. You are an idiot who tries too hard to be Mr. Laker. I should have slapped the shit outta you years ago.
I only listed the most notable stars. The stars that have transcend their sport. Like Jackie Robinson for the Dodgers, or Magic Johnson, or Babe Ruth. Yeah, every team has had a star. The Lakers have many Hall of Famers, more HoFers than any other franchise in the NBA. But only certain stars transcend their sport. Magic, West, Kobe, Shaq. Those names are known around the world. But the Yankees have stars that are American legends. You can't tell me that any star in the Lakers is bigger than Babe Ruth. And to prove I ain't no Babe Ruth dick sucker.

But to judge franchises, you have to look at what they did to make a player bigger than life. Ruth was a great player in Boston. 3 out of the 7 World Series teams he was part of where in New York. But people will always remember Ruth as a Yankee, even though his better baseball was played on the Red Sox. With other players, they became legends as Yankees. There is just something about the franchise. Many franchises have stars. The Lakers have more stars than other franchises. Magic is that guy who became almost as big as Ruth. But the Yankees have those caliber transcending stars in much larger numbers than the Lakers. Yogi Berra is often quoted. There is no player on the Lakers who is as quoted as Berra.

And he got quoted because he was a Yankee. The closest star I'd compare to the Lakers is Joe DiMaggio, he's about the level I'd put Magic and Kobe and Shaq. Straight Hollywood. But no one on the Lakers reaches Ruth, Berra levels. The Lakers don't reach Yankee levels. It's take about 10-20 years of Yankee losing and straight Laker winning for it to come close.
And your Laker's 17th title, don't forget who brought that title to light. ;)

right, so it's a technicality. in reality, it's just as important as the BAA titles, but since technically the BAA management is the one who bought out the NBL to form the NBA and not the other way around, it doesnt count towards NBA titles...but once again, were speaking franchises, and the Lakers, as a franchise, have 17 titles. one with the NBL, one with the BAA, and 15 with the NBA...the only team to have a title with all three leagues, which is another plus to the resume.
at the end of the day, we speakin franchises....officially, the lakers as a franchise have 17 titles.
lakers needed 31 appearances to get to that number? thats supposed to be a knock on the lakers?? finals appearances, whether u win or not, is a good thing....those other years where lakers made it to the finals and lost, the celtics werent even good enough to make it, and some of those years, weren't even good enough to make playoffs....so 31 finals appearances means more conference titles for the lakers. in all those years, we were good enough to win the west or win it all=higher success rate...again, 75% of boston's titles came before the 70's, when the competition was not only weaker, but of lower quantity, as well.
if it's about dominance, lakers have won in every era and were always good enough to win or, at the very least, contend for a title...championships in every generation. that's dominance.
