I hate this signing. Totally overpaid (McCann will be a DH or 1st baseman for most of this deal, I garauntee it).

Can't hate any left handed signing in this ballpark. Especially considering how weak we were at the position this past year.

Just don't get how the top prospect in our organization is a catcher and they sign one to a potential six year deal.

You gotta over pay to get someone to sign here.  Overpaid?  Probably but I think the first 2-3 years will be good and right now for the Yankees all I care about is next year.


If Cano leaves it's nice to have some new offense at catcher.

Gary Sanchez is still at least 2 years away from the majors and by the time he's ready to be the Yankees's everyday catcher McCann will probably be too old to catch and he'll be either be moved to 1st (I believe this deal outlasts Teixiera's deal) or DH.

You guys overpaid for sure, but that was roughly the amount of money that most people expected McCann to get anyways. Yanks need to disperse their money on pitching though, a few of their pitchers are becoming free agents and they'll need to fix that. And there's no guarantee Tanaka is coming to the states.

I'm going to miss McCann and the Braves starting up bench clearing brawls every other game though lol.
