To answer your first question, yes. I think Uribe will suck his first year. This is why Colletti fought so hard to make the second year a club option, to make sure Uribe fought hard for his contract. It pisses me off to no end that Colletti caved in and just gave Uribe the deal he wanted. We're in contender mode right now and don't have the luxury for Uribe to waste another precious year of the Dodgers' shelf life, so I pray this dude comes into spring training in game shape.

Cuban defect Alexander Guerrero is slated to be our 2B come opening day as of now. I haven't seen him play but people who have been following him since we've been scouting him have claimed he's not even that great. To make things worse, Colletti said not that long ago that he's not certain if Guerrero will be MLB ready come opening day, which isn't very reassuring at all. Sadly, I think I still have more faith in an unproven Guerrero than a multi-year Uribe.

It's rumored we're going after back-up 2Bs and middle infield utility players. We're going to start kicking ourselves when we realize how much a mistake it was letting Nick Punto go.

We also re-signed JP Howell, which was pleasant news.
