The words & lyrical paterns used by Pun was  :o.
He killed every rapper he ever featured on a track with.
Including:
Nas
JadaKiss
Raekwon
ect.....Check the resume he killed them all

Naisr himself has been quoted as saying that Pun deserves to be on everyones top 5 ever.
He came out classic in most peoples eyes, off of one lp he was considered amongst the elite.

I know personaly...Pun sit's up there with my all-time favorites, + he helped raise the bar & opened up the market for all latino's to gain respect in hip-hop.

But back to Capital Punishment:
The first 3 track's on this lp alone blow anything away by most artist's out at anytime now...or before.

I voted for near classic.

I try to make very high standards when labeling an album classic.  This is a great album no doubt.

He should have cut the album shorter and killed some of the skits.

Final rating, 8.5/10
