Did Johnny J do work on most of those Pac albums after Pac died?

Sorry.. I'm all confused now.. another Johnny J question..

So when it says Johnny J produced on all those album from R U Still Down thru Better Dayz, he has a lot of tracks on there.... Are they saying that he produced the originals?  Or are they saying that he produced the originals and the mixed the remixes?

he did work on until the end of.., better dayz, r u still..., a lot of the songs remixed he originally produced though.

He did both OG's and the remixes. If you noticed the ones he produced on the albums were usually similar sounding to the OG's, or different but better. Like Thug N U Thug N Me and Until the End of time. Others like Lil' Homies, or most of Still I Rise were basically the same beat but slightly remixed to be CDQ, or use approved samples for official release. Basically what would have happened had 2Pac lives to see these releases.

Johnny J did not produce any of originals on R U Still Down. Johnny J was working with 2Pac till his death row days . All the track on R U Still Down are before 2Pac was on death row.

That's kind of what I thought.  I thought he was there for the O.G.'s while Pac was alive, and then he was one of the key guys that went back in the studio and finished up the tracks for commercial release.  The shit sounds good and polished to my ears.  This is why I was surprised Reggie White dissed him like that and said he just supplied tracks but wasn't a producer (who could finish them).

He must of gone back in after Pac's death and finished some of the pre-existing tracks then.  Because it looks like he did work on...

That's actually not true - they started working in 1993 in Echo Sound Studio. Big Syke brought Johnny J in to meet 2Pac, cause 'Pac liked the "Evil Mind Gangsta's" underground demo from Big Syke and his crew, which Johnny J produced in 92.

I think he got some unfair criticisms by others because what most heard was unfinished tracks. Even though he was 'Pac's main producer, the vase majority of what he recorded with 'Pac was unreleased. I think it was just that Johnny J was willing to put together skeleton beats for 'Pac to rap over quickly, then finish them later. But he was the main person 'Pac worked with on a day to day bases, even though he only had one track on Thug Life, one track on Me Against the World, and no tracks on Makaveli. But what stood out was he produced 11 of the 27 tracks on All Eyez On Me and much of the early posthumous albums and the majority of the OG's that leaked. He was a really good producer who was able to meet 'Pac's demands. 'Pac didn't want to wait for the tracks to finish, he wanted to come in, spit on a simple beat and then the producer can finish it after he leaves. Johnny J was willing to work with that, so there are some producers who criticized him for that. My take, they all were just jealous 'cause who wouldn't want to be the go-to producer of the greatest rapper to ever live.
