Shaquille O'Neal scored his first points early in his first NBA game against Miami on Nov. 6, 1992.
A little more than 10 years later, the Big Fella joined the elite 20,000-point club on a jump hook with 1:05 remaining in the first half of the Lakers' game in Sacramento.

As small as that club is -- 27 players previously eclipsed 20,000 points -- O'Neal joins an even more exclusive group. Thursday's game in Sacramento was O'Neal's 727th, which means the Big Diesel motored to 20,000 points faster than all but six of those 27 players.

Four of them also wore the Lakers purple and gold: Wilt Chamberlain (499); Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (684); Elgin Baylor (711); and Jerry West (717). The other two players on the list are Michael Jordan (620) and Oscar Robertson (671).

Of the six ahead of Shaq, only Jordan (currently 30.3 ppg) and Chamberlain (30.1) have higher career scoring averages than O'Neal's current average of 27.5 points.

he's the 7th fastest to reach 20k, though i've noticed watching some of his games lately, i think he is really slowing down, he's just not as good as he was 2-3 years ago, he's still good though

he's still getting over his toe surgery plus he still has an arch injury on his right foot , an ankle sprain, and some sort of injury to his left knee.....so lol yeah he's slown down a bit.....by playoff time he's going to be a monster.........anyone see the celtic game??
