That's weird as shit...sounds like a Stretch verse alright. Could it be that Stretch was ghost-writing for Puffy and Bad Boy at this time? It would make sense, since Pac suspected Stretch of being tight with Bad Boy. This could help explain why Pac thought the Quad studios shooting was a set up arranged by Stretch and Puff.

So I'm guessing this explains why Pac never gave any RIP shoutouts to Stretch.  But notice at the same time I don't recall him ever dissing Stretch?  At least I don't recall him doing it on record?

I also think there are lines in "U Don't Have 2 Worry" that are dissing Stretch.

And I am certain that the verse about a friend's betrayal in "Holla At Me" is dissing Stretch. He says "you could never be live until you die/ see the motherfuckin bitch in your eye/the type of people let the evil of the money trap me...". The lines sound like they could be dissing Biggie, but "could never be live until you die" seems like a pun on "Live Squad."

Based on the information about the Quad studio shooting that has come to light, my guess is that Stretch genuinely was guilty and that is why no further information about him has come forward. Besides Pac, no one wants to diss a dead man.

Pac really must have believed that Stretch betrayed him, because he had nothing to gain from dissing someone who was virtually unknown. To diss Biggie was to target one of the biggest names in rap music at the time. But sending subliminal disses at a dead man, Stretch, is obviously not something Pac did to sell records. Deep down, he believed Stretch set him up, and he might have been right, since one of the shooters' relationship with Biggie and Bad Boy has been confirmed.

Ok, Stretch was killed on November 30, 1995 but, like "I Wonda Why They Call U Bytch", 2Pac wrote and first recorded "Holla At Me" before Death Row Records. The tracks leaked. So, no, 2Pac didn't wrote "Holla At Me" and the diss verse after Stretch died... Although he re-recorded the song for All Eyez On Me, with Nanci Fletcher. And, of course, the crazy thang was exactly one year after 2Pac got shot @ Quad Studios, Stretch is killed and then, a few days after, 2Pac recorded this verse @ Can-Am Studios.
