« on: March 28, 2003, 02:18:24 PM »
Has anyone got this album Rodney O & Joe Cooley - Fuck New York from 1993.

    1.   Y.F.N.Y.
    2.   U Don't Hear Me Tho' [Street Mix]
    3.   Why Must I Be Like That
    4.   What Really Goes On
    5.   Chase the Bass
    6.   The Jammy
    7.   Sit Back (Listen to the Rhyme)
    8.   Back in a Minute
    9.   Sounds of the Underground
    10.   Humps for the Blvd.
    11.   California Cruiser
    12.   Wake Up New York
    13.   Somethin Funky 4 U
    14.   U Don't Hear Me Tho' [Radio Mix]

its a tight album, Wake Up New York, U Don't Hear Me Tho, Sounds Of The Underground, California Crusier and What Really Goes On are dope songs

"In this business you are left unknown till you have a hit
Now I'm gonna show you just who is counterfeit
So you don't like me, but tell me the reason
Is it cause it's New York-dissin-L.A. season?
Yeah, I think I hit the nail on the head
If you had it your way, L.A. rap would be dead
But it's not like that, we got the suckers bumpin
Wear the wrong color, get broke off somethin
If I wore red or blue, I might be dodgin slugs
So I'm wearin neutral colors from the Crips and Bloods

("The Source" don't like us, they dissed my boy Rodney O)
That's right, Joe, they played us like a damn Nintendo
Didn't take the right info like it was reported
Twisted up my words, and the truth was distorted
My peers on the West won't speak up, so I will
Rodney O & Joe Cooley goin for the kill
The crew of two don't care if we cause a little static
You don't wanna run into a psycho's automatic
Ooh-wee, we're doin too much
I wish I had a New York critic in my clutch

New York talked about our jherri curls and weather
One thing I admit is: y'all stick together
Some of y'all is cool, but most of ya ain't
You walk around town like your shit don't stink
Well, the day is finally here you're gettin dissed, New York
Me and Joe celebratin, poppin off the cork
If I'm goin out, I'm goin out with a bang
Side by side with my boys, not a gang
- Wake Up New York

But I'm a do it like this so your crew will know
Tie your leg to a car, tie the other to a pole
Talk shit and laugh cause I got the gift of gab
Hop in the car, hit the gas, watch your ass split in half

Yeah I have that CD. The intro is actually worth listening to.
Intro:
Radio DJ: What inspired you guys to name your album F New York?
Reply: Well first of all, it's not called F New York, it's called Fuck New York.

And it goes from there. Bold for 92/93. Nice gangsta rhymes and speaking on NY disrespect to LA artists with hard hitting funk samples. Although I don't know if people who don't like pre-G Funk West Coast would like it too much, it sounds kinda old when compared to others from that period, like more of an 89-91 sound.

Also had a nice album with The Final Chapter a few years later. Thanks for bringing this up, it's been a while since I listened to it.

peace,
tnp
