The Royals are a team in the AL Central but they're not called the Detroit Tigers. Their 2014 season was over before it started.

The Royals are only two games behind the Tigers and you failed to mention the possibility of getting in as a Wild Card.  With the parody in baseball this year the Royals are right in the thick of the Wild Card race right now.  If Shields gets us into the playoffs then it was worth it.  Just like it was worth it for the Brewers to have Grienke and get into the playoffs.  In fact, just being in the race last year and this year as well is worth it for a lot of fans.

I like how you're suddenly all optimistic about the Royals even though you left them for dead and jumped on the Blue Jays bandwagon. Then again you were only spewing nonsense like how some nobody on the Jays is still a thing in Kansas or some shit like that.

I've been on the Blue Jays bandwagon since the beginning of the year.  All the fan base felt bad when Kevin Sietzer was fired.  He played in Kansas City and is a regular with the local media and local charities.  Blue Jays Manager John Gibbons also used to be in KC.  When they hired Sietzer as hitting coach I knew they would do well.

Admittedly I thought the Royals were self-destructing after they got swept by the Astros.  I admit that and I'm on record for saying that so I can't do anything but own that.

...we were discussing the Shields trade and I just asked a question.  I'm not tied to the Royals winning that deal as I felt from the outset that the Royals would lose that deal.  Rany Jazerli is a local blogger and radio personality here and he is one of the geniuses that came up with analytics and advanced statistics, founding baseball prospectus magazine... I always take information from him because he knows what he's talking about and he said that the Shields deal was a bad one from the beginning.

I appreciate your analysis, I just don't know why you chose to be an asshole about it.

Detroit   36   29   .554   -   5-5   W2   18-16   18-13   6/15 vs MIN, W 4-3   6/16 vs KC, 7:08 PM
Kansasi   36   32   .529   1.5   8-2   W7   18-16   18-16   6/15 @ CWS, W 6-3   6/16 @ DET, 7:08 PM

...If the Royals win their next two games they would have sole possession of first place.  You sure the season is over already, dipshit?

There's no way the Royals will ever win that trade, Shields is out of the door and the Royals never made it to the postseason when he was with the team.

You fucking dumbass...look at the standings... if the season ended today the Royals would be in the playoffs.  Shields is still on the team, dipshit!  I just realized you probably thought Shields was traded on a one year deal and didn't even know he was still on the Royals, lol

Your Royals are a piece of shit. And James Shields will not be back with the team in 2015, end of story.

He's right though. I don't really know enough about the Royals in particular, but the Central division sucks and teams in the AL are very mediocre. in general. With the second wild card slot, they're at least in the mix at this point.

He's bringing up wild card standings in the middle of June. His argument automatically lost right there.

And normally I would go into detail about how the Royals are just pretenders but I don't have to since Infinite will throw a hissy fit again when the Royals lose a few games in a row and do it for me.

If the Royals win tomorrow night they move ahead of the Tigers and take full possession of 1rst place in the Central division.  I still don't know if you realize this, BUT SHIELDS IS STILL ON THE TEAM, and the team would be in the playoffs if the playoffs started today.

So please respond to your comment above that I quoted... I'm waiting...

It's still June dumbass, my point is that the season won't end today. If the past three seasons are any indication, the Tigers have let others enjoy first place for a while before taking the throne for themselves near the end. It happened to the Indians (twice) and it happened to the White Sox. And those teams were far more superior to the 2014 Royals.

And I don't have to respond. In a week or two you'll just throw a tantrum and bitch and moan about how your Royals are falling apart because they got swept or something. You always do.

I think that you thought Shields was traded on a 1 year deal.  I think you didn't even know he was still on the Royals and now you are trying to backtrack by saying "the season was over before it started everyone knows the Tigers will win".

Which only makes you sound even more stupid, because you totally neglected the fact that the Royals are currently in place for the Wild Card spot and 1 win away from taking the division lead as well.
