LOL@blaming the media for that shit.  The media was doing their job, they are supposed to cover the culture and any good writer is trying to add interest to the subject they are writing about.  The media was doing its job back then and it sold a lot of records and a lot of magazines and it was a golden age.

Now rappers want to come around and blame the media for it that is bullshit.  How can you blame the media when Snoop and the Dogg Pound are kicking down fuccing buildings in New York?

I never got people blaming the media, people saying there was no east-west beef, people attributing pac and big's death to it, people blaming Pac for it or people saying it was just between two men.

The media covered it but they didn't create it, there really was a east west beef, its never been proven that pac and big died over the east-west situation, the problem was there before Pac got involved and it was clearly deeper that just Pac and Big.

I can't even say it was Tim Dog. The East coast was/is some haters who hated/hates on the west and south because they used something they created in a different way then they intended. Something that's rarely mentioned is the 5%er element that many consider to be one of the elements of Hip Hop. If that element isn't present in the music some feel it's not real. Alot of the hate came/comes from the fact that the west and south weren't reppin' it in their music. That's why you always hear someone say "it's not real Hip Hop", because they not putting the 5% knowledge in the music.

I've also heard the war described as the major labels on the east coast versus the indie labels on the west. Another way concerning DR and bad Boy was DR Bloods and Bad Boy Crips. The Crip element coming from BMF who was allegedly backing Bad Boy. Not sure if either is true but it's interesting nevertheless.
No man born of woman tho. Dead homies.
