Money B is an emcee from Oakland, CA. He is best known as a member of the funk/rap group Digital Underground. The group was formed in 1987 by Shock G, Kenny-K, and Chopmaster J. Their music included samples from 70s funk bands, which became a defining element in west coast rap music. Their 1990 debut album, Sex Packets, featured hit singles “Doowutchyalike” and “The Humpty Dance”. In 1991, they introduced live piano and musicians on This Is An EP Release, which included 2Pac’s first guest appearance on “Same Song”. Digital Underground followed up with Sons Of The P in 1991 and The Body-Hat Syndrome in 1993. In 1996, the group released Future Rhythm, with featured from The Luniz, Del The Funkee Homosapien, Numskull, and Saafir. They followed up with Who Got The Gravy? in 1998 with east coast features from Big Punisher, Biz Markie, and KRS-One. In 1999, Money B released his debut solo album, Talkin’ Dirty. The project was produced by J-Cutt, Mr. Mixx, and DJ Fuze, with features from Numskull, Clee, Delinquents, and Shock G. He also released two albums in the group Raw Fusion, alongside DJ Fuze. Digital Underground released their final studio album in 2008, Cuz A D.U. Party Don’t Stop! They toured globally nearly every year until 2008. In 2010, unreleased tracks were released on The Greenlight EP. Currently you can hear Money B on the radio each week with The Goin Way Back Show.
