Just after 7:30 Saturday morning a Phoenix Air Gulfstream 3 carrying one American infected with the Ebola virus landed at Bangor International airport. It’s the planes first stop in the US on it’s route to Atlanta from Liberia where two American aid workers got the deadly disease. After taxiing, the plane refueled for the next leg of the journey, 1300 miles to Emory University Hospital, which has one of the top hospital isolation units in the country. The crew stepped off the air ambulance to stretch their legs and receive what appears to be supplies, possibly medical. The American on board worked in a Liberian hospital that treated Ebola patients. The plane spent a little less than an hour at Bangor’s airport, it is expected to arrive in Atlanta Saturday afternoon. This is the first time anyone sick with Ebola has been brought into the US. So far more than 700 people have died from the disease in West Africa.
