1997 Retrospective started so I've been listening to a bunch of albums lately!

Camp Lo - Uptown Saturday Night - Overrated imo
Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus - Definitely ahead of his time but I dont consider it a classic
Crime Boss - Conflicts & Confusion - Dope gangsta rap album
Twista - Adrenaline Rush - One of the best Twista solo
O.C. - Jewelz - Near classic, I will have to listen back his first one from 94
CNN - The War Report - I wasnt a fan at first and I didnt listen to this album for year but now I think it was actually pretty good! probably that LA, LA song that got me mad back then lol
Common - On Day It'll All Make Sense - Excellent album, near classic as well
EPMD - Back In Business Good album but definitely far from the quality of the first albums
Gravediggaz - The Pick, The Sickle & The Shovel Dark album and pretty dope
Rakim - The 18th Letter That album with Illmatic and 36 Chambers got me into Eastcoast music and it's still a classic for me! Rakim def my favorite rapper from the Big Apple with AZ
Puff Daddy & The Family - No Way Out - The singles are still dope singles but with years I think this album was overrated AF
Ma$e - Harlem World - I got into Ma$e very late, tbh when he dropped his single with Rick Rock on his Welcome Back album and I digged into his catalog and his debut was and still is mad dope!
Boot Camp Clik - For The People - Got into BCC thanks to Sean Price and even though this album aint the best record on the BCC/Duck Down catalog I think its dope

and I still keep RTJ3 and Dom Kennedy on rotation

Shout outs to Mr Theo who inspired me  8)

Write down your last 5 albums that you listened to. Maybe with some extra comments (f.e. did you like it, dope songs that you recommend, flaws of the album, etc). Could be a cool concept imo

I'll start it off:

1/ Method Man - Tical 2000: Judgement Day (28 songs deep with 10 skits. Could have been a classic though, as there are many dope songs: Spazolla, Sweet Love, Play 4 Keeps, Step by Step, Big Dogs, Break up to make ups etc. Guess the album should have been shorter with its 73! minutes. )
2/ GZA/Genius - Beneath the surface (imo this is an overlooked album with lots of bangers! My favorites: 'Hip Hop fury', 'Beneath the surface', 'Amplified Sample' etc. I wonder who had the idea to put 2 stupid consecutive skits though (skit#1 & skit#2 on tracklist 4 & 5)?)
3/ AG - Get Dirty Radio (check out 'Take a ride' prod by Madlib! The rest didn't excite me that much)
4/ Da Youngsta's - No Mercy ('Hip-hop Ride' is dope! The rest sounds a bit outdated sometimes)
5/ Royce Da 5'9" - Rock City - the original one, not 2.0 (never really liked it, but gave it a new listen after a couple of years. Won't change my opinion though, I really don't like this album. Production is bad; 'Boom' is nice of course)

I Inspired this thread     ? Wow Thankssssss

my last albums

DOM KENNEDY - LOS ANGELES IS NOT FOR SALE VOL 1   [2016]

PRINCE - DIAMOND AND PEARLS [1991]

GEORGE BENSON - GIVE ME THE NIGHT [1980]

BEATLES - NUMBER 1 [2000]

RAE SREMMURD - SREMMLIFE 2 [2016]

+1 for George Benson! He's my favrorite artist of all time and this one is a hell of classic  8)

I revisited the whole Jay-Z discography and you can clearly see a decrease in his music...

Future - FUTURE - I gave it a listen just because and even though, beats are sometime crazy I can't stand dude's voice
Fat Joe & Remy Ma - Plato O Plomo - Average record but not really a surprise
Celly Cel - Dirty Mind - A Terrible album...
Clyde Carson - S.T.S.A. 2 - A good tape but no replay values after a lil while
T-Nutty & Liq - Slangin & Bangin 2 - Some dope and some less dope but overall it's alright

Charlie Wilson - In It To Win It - Disapointing album from Uncle Charlie...
Roy Ayers - You Send Me - I admit that I never really check Roy Ayers entire catalog except for a few albums but this LP is flame  8)
Sampha - Process - It's a good project but I expected more though
Laroo - Flashbang - An aight EP I guess
Killa Tay - Snake Eyes 2 - Not a bad album but sound cheap espacially compared to the first one
