An Anology of NWA and the 90's Chicago Bulls
« on: March 09, 2015, 01:46:30 AM »
Eazy E - is like the Michael Jordan of the group.  Dre even said that Eazy was "that character" that the rest of the group sort of fed off of and developed their identity from there.  Although Eazy's lyrics were written by others, and Dre was providing the sounds and conceptually as well, so it was a group effort, but Eazy got to be the star.

Dr. Dre - Dre was like Scottie Pippen because he did a little bit of everything, and did it well.  He rebounded, played defense, was a leader in the locker room and on the floor, and all so put up big numbers in all categories including scoring.  Dre could do everything, and is very under-rated behind the mic, on "100 Miles and Runnin" and the Efil4zaggin album Dre is coming hard as fuck and outshining everyone.  That Efil4Zaggin album was like the 94 season for Scottie Pippen when he damn near led the Bulls into the Finals without Jordan and should of won MVP.

MC Ren-  He's like James Edwards or Dickey Simpkons... kind of a guy who goes in there and bangs around with the big boys, provides quality minutes off the bench, but doesn't put up any big numbers.  Still he is a very quality and valuable player, who provides quality minutes while the starters are resting, and supports them so that they can come in and shine and get all the glory.  Ren is tight as fuck on the mic, he just didn't have the star quality, but any true hip-hop head or West Coast rap fan should still consider him a legend.

Ice Cube-  Cube is like Horace Grant, who became Benedict Arnold to the Bulls in the 95' playoffs.  Horace was an all-star and a big-time player who was a bit jealous of Jordan.  Heller accuses Cube of being jealous of the others in NWA cause they were cooler than him and got more pussy, lol.  Horace was huge in the the Bulls earlier championship runs, he repped the Bulls to the fullest, but beefed every now and then with the star player (Jordan).  He then went off his own way and joined the Magic and defeated the Bulls in that epic series back in 95', but ultimately the Bulls overcame him, just like NWA albums were better than anything Cube ever did solo.   Cube was great solo, but I don't think he ever made an album as classic as St8 Outta Compton or Efil4Zaggin.  The Bulls had success with him and without him just like NWA had success with (St8 Outta Compton) and without Cube (Efil4Zaggin).

DJ Yella-  He's like Jack Haley.  Haley was brought to the Bulls basically to babysit Dennis Rodman (one funny moment was when that Sonics tried to cast Frank Brickowski in a "goon role" to stand up to Rodman, and so he punched Rodman in Game 1 of the Finals and then went and talked shit to Jack haley saying what kind of man needs a babysitter, lmao, although it backfired and lost the Sonics the game and Rodman had the last laugh).

man love both entities...

my initial response is that you are playing Ren a bit, lol. Dickie?

Eazy was mos def the star, but his talent was in making moves, his street legitimacy, the foresight...all that. That is where he and MJ differ materially in that MJ was the most talented dude we've ever seen (not to mention the most competitive).

Love the shine you gave my man S. Pippen. He may be the Eazy of the group for putting his "Nutts on ya' chin" to Pat Ewing. Fav dunk of all time

word..

naw, I really wasn't trying to play Ren with that.  I was just thinking, if you notice Eazy's album it would be Ren that would just kind of come in there and drop a freestyle to add some quality minutes to the album, but in crunch time for the big moments of the album it would be one of the heavy hitters who would have the ball in that key moment.

Yeah.. that Patrick Ewing dunk was one of the all-time moments of that era.  Jordan also had his famous dunk over Ewing.

I was more in keeping with Cube dissing Ren about backin up the starters and being on the B Team... I thought making Ren a back up who just came in and banged around with the big fellas and soaked up minutes was a little more fitting then doing a starting 5 theme.

DR DRE IS PHIL JACKSON

I wanted to give props to Dre as an MC, I'm tired of people sleeping on his mic skills, when dude is on fire, just listen to "100 Miles and Runnin"
