After spending its debut week at number one on the Billboard 200, Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly is set to continue in pole position, becoming the first album to spend its first two weeks there since Taylor Swift's 1989 in November of last year and the first album with "pimp" in its title to ever achieve the feat. The Building Album Sales Chart at HitsDailyDouble, currently at 80.94% confirmed, is all but announcing the second-week fate of Kendrick's latest critically acclaimed LP, after declaring 85,816 units sold. He therefore comfortably beats the competition of Empire, which has set its sights on radio after already topping the Billboard 200 with its season one soundtrack, and fellow rappers Action Bronson and Earl Sweatshirt with Mr. Wonderful and I Don't Like S***, I Don't Go Outside respectively. With six tracks on Billboard's Hot 100 and the promise of a second week on top of the Billboard 200, Kendrick can now claim a comprehensive victory for thoughtful and innovative artists everywhere.
