Is Jay Rock's '90059' Dropping Next Week?

Fans have been clamoring for a new album from Jay Rock for years. One of the original members of Top Dawg Entertainment - singed to the label since 2005 - has only released one album, Follow Me Home, in 2011. Since then he's seen his Black Hippy contemporaries - Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q - each release three albums each, to varying degrees of success.

Meanwhile, that's not to say that Jay hasn't kept the heads ringing like Dr. Dre in 1995. Providing guest contributions to his TDE brethren or, in some cases, outshining his extended family on their own songs ("Money Trees," "Lust Demons," and "Los Awesome," anyone?), Jay has kept his name buzzing so heavily that even the slightest of random interviews and previews send his fans rushing to c-sections in a tizzy.

When he and TDE CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith finally announced that Jay will drop his new album 90059, they have presented the project in an interesting way: as pre-order numbers began to increase, the release date - which started on some random date in 2016 - began to drop. Now, an enterprising Madden 16 fan (I don't know if I'm going to cop a copy this season), after picking up his game he came across some news about 90059...

... saying that the album has, in fact, a planned due date of September 4th, with physicals dropping on September 11th.

At long last, Jay Rock will release his highly-anticipated sophomore project in roughly a week. And with the tracks he's released - "Gumbo," "Money Trees Deuce" and the project's title track, Jay is poised to drop what some people are considering could be the best body of work in his carer.
