Revelations 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
================================
The Inquisition is alive and well today.
2 Corinthians 6:8
By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

6:9
As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Many Jews were forced to renounce their faith during the inquisition at threat of being found against the catholic church but would worship in secrecy...
Evidence of this can still be found today...
If you wanna read some good torture methods I suggest you enquire into the Chinese methods, they are borderline snuff esque rather than dark ages barbarity...
